Exercise:

Personal brand is what you’re known for. When people say your name to other people, what do you want them to think of first? Identify your personal brand and then live it every day.

  1. What are the key words that you want people to think of when they think of you? (i.e. creative, integrity, on-time, resourceful)

  2. What are the behaviors that you can demonstrate each day to support these key words? (i.e. share ideas, follow through with commitments, arrive 2 minutes early to every meeting, etc.)

  3. What do you want to stop, keep, or start doing to support your personal brand? Are there strategies, skills, or habits that need to be developed? Refer back to that lesson for tips.

  4. Ask for specific feedback from others on how your behaviors align with your desired personal brand.

  5. Reflect on a monthly basis, if there are actions or behaviors you’d like to take/improve to demonstrate your personal brand.

  6. Continue to refine.

Action: take 20-30 minutes to walk through the exercise above, identifying your key words, behaviors, what to stop, keep, or start doing, ask for specific feedback, and reflect and refine.
