Growth is a cycle of vision, mindset, and intentional action.

Envision how you want to grow and what success looks like, then master your mindset to achieve it by assessing and refining beliefs, then take intentional action to achieve your vision.

So, how do you want to grow? What’s your mindset? And, what’s the intentional action you want to take?

Choose one area you want to grow: while you were clarifying your career development plan and identifying strategies, habits, and skills, which areas did you want to grow? What impact can that growth have on your short-term and long-term vision? Choose 1 area of growth to start with.

  1. Define success: what does success look like when growing in this area? How will you know you’ve grown?

  2. Reflect on your beliefs: which beliefs are helping you or harming you? How can you shift these beliefs? What’s the positive reframe?

  3. Gather resources: what do you need to grow? What do you need to learn? How much time? Who do you need to involve? Do you need financial resources? Anything else?

  4. Determine timing: when do you want to grow? Today, next week, next month?

  5. Get organized: break down the steps and identify which actions you need to take to grow. Do you need to add these actions to your to-do list? Or, to a project plan? Block your calendar for when you want to complete the actions.

  6. Communicate/Accountability: do you need to tell someone that you’re going to do this to hold yourself accountable? Share with them your growth vision, by when, and where you’ll do it.

  7. Take the intentional action: get momentum by completing the actions to grow.

  8. Reflect and repeat: reflect on what worked, what didn’t, and what to improve next time. Choose the next intentional growth area and repeat the process.

Action: Growth can help you achieve your vision, in life, career, and leadership. Keep identifying your vision, setting your mindset, taking intentional action to get there, including growing in the areas that will help you achieve it!
